Civil Rights Education
Our mission is to enlighten, inspire, and positively transform the futures of at-risk African-American males between the ages of 11 to 14 by offering them the opportunity to journey to Alabama and retrace the footsteps and actions of the brave people who worked hard and risked their lives to ensure that all people enjoyed the same civil rights in our nation.
We believe that young men will be inspired by this history and benefit from the experience of visiting the places that served as a stage for the historic events and actions of everyday people and civil rights leaders who acted as a catalyst for change in this country.
Our hope is that this experience, The Journey, will make a significant impact on participants and inspire them to make better choices, stay in school, further their education, and take steps to creating a productive, successful future.
In addition to serving at-risk youth, we aim to educate and increase awareness in our community about the challenges that our young African American men face.
Pull Up Your Pants is a community-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, currently serving North Texas area communities. Our vision is to expand the program to serve communities nationwide.
